Dr. Giovanini is a native of Portland, Oregon. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Oregon. He received his doctor of medicine degree at Oregon Health Sciences University. He did his residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Florida at Shands Hospital. He has published several articles on spinal cord injury and neural transplantation while at the University of Florida. He has been in private practice in Pensacola since July of 1999.
Dr. Giovanini sees patients at the Gulf Breeze office which is located in the Andrews Institute. He does surgery at Baptist and Gulf Breeze Hospitals and The Andrews Institute.
Minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) is a prime focus for Dr.Giovanini. Throughout his practice he has continually promoted and helped develop many aspects of MIS. He has been a consultant for several of the major spine companies to teach MIS techniques both to Neurosurgeons and Orthopedic surgeons around the world.
